Mechanism of action
Nova Soy: contains 40% total Isoflavones. Mechanisom of action involves binding to the Estrogen receptor, not safe for women with estrogen receptor positive Breast Cancer.
Wild Yam: contains diosgenin, an estrogen like substance found in plants, therefore has Estrogenic effects. Sterol structures of Wild Yam are used as precursors in the bio-synthesis of progesterone, DHEA, and other steroids, but do not have inherent biological activity. Plant sterol dioscorea is converted into progesterone in the body and alleviates "Estrogen dominance." This is the basis for the use of EstroSym XR in the management of PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome).
Black Cohosh:
- Has estrogen-like action
- Suppresses LH
- Binds to estrogen receptors
